Yesterday I read a quote on Instagram that I really haven’t been able to stop thinking about since. In my opinion the message the author is trying to convey through these beautiful words is just so powerful. It goes like this –

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.  Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. Its not just in some of us; its in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberate others.”  – Marianne Williamson.

Reading these words brought tears to my eyes. There is so much potent truth in what the author is trying to remind us of that most of us seem to have forgotten. I just had to share this today as it had been on my mind for so long and I really want to reflect on this and let it absorb.

I truly believe that we humans are most powerful when we begin to tap into our true potential, achieving seemingly ‘i-m-possible’ things and pushing ourselves beyond the limits of what’s considered ‘normal’ by the society, our family and friends and a lot of the times, even ourselves.

We have all seen real life examples of people who completely rise up from their ‘rock bottom’ state, turn their lives around and go on to achieve the most amazing things in their lives. How does this happen? Have you ever given it much thought? I feel it comes down a lot to what Marianne is trying to convey with her words here. We are born with so much light, so much love and innocence.

How do we end up losing this light? What gets our light dimmed out in the first place? And at what point did this happen to us anyway? How did we manage to convince ourselves that we’re not as strong, as powerful or as abundant as we would really like to be?

Maybe it was when we were growing up and our parents told us we weren’t good enough. Maybe it was our close friend who always ‘used’ us but never gave anything in return. Maybe it was a high school teacher who told you that you would never make it. The point is we’ve all had ‘bad’ experiences in our past and most probably going through tough times in your present too.

So what’s the difference between a person who succeeds and someone who doesn’t?

A person who succeeds in life believes in their true potential and then follows through with inspired action. They let their light shine bright. They don’t let others dim their light or let people tell them they are not brilliant, gorgeous, happy, etc.

Hey beautiful, is your light shining bright? or have you let the opinion of others affect your self worth?

If you answered yes to that last question – then what can you do today to change that around? How can you shower yourself with love and make your light shine bright?

So go You, beautiful You! Shine bright! Shine BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND.

Love yourself. Love yourself crayyyyyzaaayyyy. Because why not. Believe in your potential. And your ability to achieve beautiful things in life. Take measured conscious and consistent action towards everything you desire to have. And Universe promises to return it to you tenfold.

Don’t let anyone else tell you you cannot do something or be something. The only person responsible for your happiness and success is you. There will be angels who will help you achieve your goals, but ultimately the responsibility lies with you.

So gorgeous, let this soak in, absorb this knowledge and let every cell in your body radiate light.

Until next time,

Upasana xo

Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Finding the time and actual effort to generate a great article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t manage to get nearly anything done.|
