Bali Part 4 Header

I’m back with another post about my Bali trip.. I hope you have had a chance to look at my previous posts. If not, definitely read Part 1 to 3 first then come back to this one.

Today I want to talk about Day 3..

DAY 3

After the most relaxing day 2, today was a day to get into action. The day I arrived in Bali and particularly Bliss, my hostess ‘J’ had booked me into a yoga class on this Monday so I could experience in-house yoga to see if I liked it. So waking up on day 3, I straight away meditated like I promised I would every day while in Bali. I then made my way to the Yogashala where I had my first ever Yoga class with Jenny.

This class started with the most beautiful meditation, after which she guided us through a gentle (but still challenging for me) hatha yoga sequence. The one hour session ended with another mindfulness meditation. I cannot begin to tell you but I think it was on this day that I fell in love with yoga completely. I had ‘thought’ about taking it up through the years but for some reason, never really gotten around to it. This was an amazing way to introduce myself to this practice. The feeling of being able to experience this in Bali with other women who were on a similar spiritual journey was the best feeling.

After my first yoga class, we all made our way to the common kitchen, and had breakfast together. Obviously I opted for the pancakes again! Yum… they were the best.

Post breakkie I was booked to be picked up and driven to the shopping precinct in Seminyak. I had no idea what to expect, honestly my haggling skills were quite rusty. I reached Seminyak about 11:30 in the morning and spent about a couple of hours visiting every single shop that I could. I bought a beautiful “love” ring for myself as I wanted something that could remind me of my time in Seminyak, so it was quality over quantity for me. I obviously could not resist visiting the Seminyak Flea market and bought some dresses there. I got to practice my haggling skills there! I did NOT disappoint myself. I ended the trip with some Starbucks, so good to see something familiar in a foreign land haha 😀

Back to the villa then, and it was time for a massage. I opted for the Herbal Ball Massage at Bliss and “P” came through with the goods!! I think I really needed that post shopping. My feet thanked me for this. 🙂

After massage, I took a shower and got ready to visit Tanah Lot with some other ladies who were staying at Bliss.

I look back on this evening trip quite fondly. I felt like a true tourist, wearing my sunglasses, hat and long maxi dress. The four of us were driven to Tanah Lot and on the way, we drove through some of the most amazing rice paddies and Balinese villages. We reached Tanah Lot and after walking through all the shops in the precinct, we reached the beach. The sun was about to set and all of us wanting the perfect Tanah Lot image with the sun setting, we made our way through to the almost “hidden” cliff top bars and restaurants.

Luck was on our side as we managed to get the best seats for the show that was about to unravel in front of our eyes. We ordered some cold Bintangs and got ready for the sunset.

As soon as the sun started to set, the sky lit up. It’s one of those things I will never forget in my life. The expanses across the beautiful ocean and the Tanah Lot temple in the foreground is a sight I will never forget. 🙂 Just the most beautiful thing ever!

After the sunset, we drove back to the villa. The conversations and friendships made on this night is what I will always think about, very fondly. 🙂

We came back to the villa just in time for dinner and our food was waiting for us at the dining hall. We all discussed our days and it was time for sleep. I journal-ed, meditated and fell asleep.

I could not have had a better day if I asked for it. This was my first day getting out of the villa and what an amazing day it had been. I absolutely adore being a tourist in a new city or country, to see new sights, to meet new people, to find hidden restaurants, to taste new food and drinks, I loved being a tourist on this day. It was a successful day 3.

Crazy how time flies, Bali now feels like a dream I wish I never woke up from.

I have more juicy posts coming up for Bali, stayed tuned.

Until next time,

Stay beautiful

Lots of love,

Upasana xo
